  1. I need real time..

I found this book very inspiring. I felt the author’s pain & humiliation through his hardships & pride after his accomplishments. A great lesson in using your past mistakes, no matter how difficult, to guide you to do & be better.

Greg’s memoir is one of the most transparent and real memoirs I’ve ever read. He shares his many life challenges and how he made it through them – successful or not. What could be more inspiring to other people than a story of victory in spite of the bitter side of life? His message is clear, we are each responsible to use who we are and the resources we have and all of our life’s experiences into – “Zero excuses.”

Greg’s story is eloquently written and flows like a well crafted violin concerto depicting the highest notes, to the deepest low notes of his life with grace, strength, and humility; this book is a story that will resonate with the masses, and I greatly recommend this book to use as a tool to learn, and be inspired by one persons story of overcoming obstacles that emulates, and runs parallel to many others; (including myself) who fought back when the odds were against us.

I usually start a book that takes me weeks to finish. I wanted to show some support to a HS friend & I bought his book. It was at my door when I got home from work. I figured I wld read a few pages & somehow veer off into something else before my night was over, as I cant always focus on one thing for too long. But I finished it.We go to school w/ ppl we call friends throughout our HS careers & most times go in vastly different directions. I think I may have bumped into Greg only a handful of times after HS. Probably at some local bar for a First Fridays. Just like I wld bump into him at Maples when we were both far too young to have even been let it, let alone drinking.I knew him on a surface level but he was always nice to me. We always greet each other with a sense of familiarity. I knew he had some issues, again, on a surface level, but I was never in a place of judgement towards him. This book, however, has allowed me to learn and even understand how much we dont really know anyone. But the way he speaks about choices, integrity, mistakes and even the gravitational pull he had towards the street life really resonated with me. In a way that I felt like I knew him, because at one point, I was him. It’s a great read. Inspiring. And there is something about a Brockton kid becoming a man and being vulnerable to share his experiences that makes me proud of even knowing him. When I say “support the homie” I mean it. The book has some great insight and may even make you shed a tear. (Cause y’all know I can cry! Lol)Congratulations Greg Fernandes ! I wish you continued success in all that you do!
