This book was fun and easy to read with real life stories and good examples. It helps presenters to organize, craft and deliver messaging that are easy to follow and influence audiences. I used it for job interviews as well and it worked! It’s also good for college students as my daughter read the book and used it at school with success.

I give presentations almost daily to customers and various levels within my organization as a product manager. What I loved the most about this book is how to work within the storytelling framework when you’re told you only have five minutes or 1 slide. A truly relevant book that I’ll be referring to often. This framework should be taught in school as a gen ed course, it’s that valuable. Easy read and easy to incorporate into your daily work.

A must read business book on every MBA student and business professional list. I was impressed with the simplicity of the recommendations and active examples that are woven throughout the book. Great storytellers themselves, the authors have compiled years of experience and distilled key recommendations for presenting to any audience on any topic. This will be a regularly referenced book on my desk. I can’t recommend it enough if you are looking to improve your communications and make even more impact. A must read!

Buyers are drowning in data, but hungry for meaning. For relevant stories that help them make better decisions and take effective action. The trouble is, storytelling can be really tricky to master. Especially for sales and marketing messaging. What makes something a story, exactly? And how do you turn a dull, lifeless series of facts into a narrative that resonates with the right people? It turns out, stories that inspire action have the same fundamental components. And you can use them in everything from emails to pitch decks to discovery calls.Want to learn how to do it? Buy and read this book! It’s a MUST read for anyone who liked StoryBrand or Stories That Stick (2 other phenomenal books).

I finally realized I needed to find the tools to be better at storytelling recently when I had 5 minutes with my boss’s boss to fill him in on a big project. Instead of succinctly giving him the synopsis of the project (and my involvement in it!), I stumbled around without succinctly communicating the highlights, and hung up going – ugh. I just really blew an easy opportunity to impress him. I set out to find help with this kind of thing and found Everyday Business Storytelling…I want to shout from the rooftops what a wonderful “secret sauce” this is to delivering in those moments! The tips, tricks, and insights have already helped me speak more confidently (and impressively, I must say) in meetings and I’m only a few pages in! Highly highly recommend for anyone who works in an office/team setting. Easy to absorb. Functional tactics that you can apply to all types of moments with clients and internal stakeholders, even with the most basic things like sending an email. Can’t say enough how much I love this book. Wish I’d known all this 10 years ago!

This book is a must-have for anyone trying to tell a business story. The content is presented in a compelling, clear way, actually utilizing the exact principles outlined in the book (way to practice what you preach!). As a product manager, I’m always looking for new ways to evangelize the solutions I work on and find new ways to communicate with stakeholders. What I love about this book is not only that it offers practical, key insights that I can easily implement in my day-to-day, but it’s set up like a user-friendly textbook. I can reference it on the fly as I go about my day and keep the valuable guidance at front of mind. I highly recommend it.

Whether you’re a recent college grad or have been in business for 50 years, this book has valuable strategies for anyone that needs to communicate information or ideas. It lays out a simple formula for organizing your message in a way that will capture people’s attention and help you provide the right amount of context to get decisions made.I recently took the on-demand course from TPC that complements the book (they’re both called Everyday Business Storytelling) which has a library of videos that expand on the topics covered in the book (as well as downloadable resources, activities, etc.) Highly recommend both!

This book is a fantastic resource for every professional, not just people who give presentations. It’s a great primer on effective and persuasive storytelling, cohesive messaging, and visual presentations. They give very clear “before/after” examples and case studies. I found the “what’s working/not working” call outs especially useful. I’m a professional communicator and I would definitely recommend this book to all my colleagues and clients.

An amazing guide to improving your business communication! The lessons are clear and easy to understand with case studies and illustrated examples of presentations that are effective (and those that are not!). Great examples of how to improve the visual impact of your presentation and how to get the “big idea” across to the audience.Chapters on effective strategies for improving your email communication and how to make virtual presentations are clear and concise.A must-have book for every business and an excellent guide for student presentations.

I was excited to get this new deck + pitch “bible” finally from The Presentation Company. These two are some of the best in the biz working the last 20 yrs with the biggest organizations out there to help us all perfect our storytelling skills.I have worked with 100s of early stage to growth company builders and this book has all the areas should be focused on. Often people try to throw too much into a deck – which makes it unpresentable to be honest. Simplicity and clarity wins every time.FYI the book is a cheat code for anyone in business trying to clearly build support behind the ideas they are building internally or externally to market. Don’t just get a copy for yourself, but think about others in your org who might benefit.

The book is great with details on how to in several areas including emails, group presentations, and cases where you can’t give a whole briefing. I’d highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to improve their communication skills in business.

Unlike most business books, this one does not just give you one big idea then fill 200 pages with fluff. This book is one big idea after another, with concrete examples to support each one. Will this book help you with …giving better presentations? Yes. …writing better proposals? Yes. …drafting better emails? Yes.Janine and Lee are masters of their craft. This book is well-written, thoughtfully-designed, and packed with practical advice to help you excel at communicating more effectively and memorably.

The copy was for my fresh-out-of-college nephew to help him as he starts his career. But while reading through it, I realized it could help me too–and I’ve been been working for too long. For those new to giving presentations, this book is a very practical and actionable. It gives multiple ‘real-life’ examples and then breaks them down to show where one could improve. It is so much easier to understand when you see things in action opposed to just a theoretical concept. And for those of us who think they are pros at presentations…think again. The book is both a reminder of best practices but also a toolkit for more effective communication (whether it be presentations, emails or a pitch on the fly).

I became interested in this book as I have been trying to increase my storytelling capability as a speaker. It not only offers great information on storytelling, but so much more. The information on how to integrate otherwise boring data into a story was a real gem. How to turn headings into headlines and big ideas was worth many times the price of the book alone. What was so different about this book was that not only did the authors explain what you needed to do, they walked you through with great illustrations and graphics. First, they showed examples of what is not working and then turned these examples into what does work. I have never read a book where the authors have made it more crystal clear on what you need to do to make your ideas pop. There is even a section on sending effective emails. This alone would make this book incredibly valuable. This is the best guide that I know of when it comes to providing valuable information in a very clearly defined, user friendly manner. I will be going back to it often when developing my talks, creating online courses and training. It is truly a game changer. Thank you Janine and Lee!

I tell myself this all the time, and it works. To jumpstart 2022, I began reading “Everyday Business Storytelling,” by sisters Janine Kurnoff and Lee Lazarus, and it’s been a breath of fresh air. Not only did they do a great job of reminding me why storytelling is fundamental and critical to successful engagement with an audience, at any level, but they also opened my eyes to new ways to improve a narrative using visual storytelling techniques. It’s an inspiring read for anyone who wants to kick-start your communication skills by crafting stories that are verbally and visually more engaging.

I have read many excellent storytelling books aiming to do better presentations at work, but I was facing difficulties to bring all those techniques to the business scenario. This book helped me a lot teaching me how to “plug” all the knowledge I had previously acquired to the presentations I want to do at work. Everyday Business Storytelling along with Storyworthy from Matthew Dicks (another masterpiece) will bring your storytelling to a whole new level. Congratulations and thank you to the authors Lee Lazarus and Janine Kurnoff for this amazing and helpful book.
