It’s really hard to talk about this in America. However the examples such as Katrina are very telling. The National Guard expects all Firemen and Police to be gone within 48 hours.

The documentary presents both sides of the debate, a debate that shouldn’t even be, therefore the focus is on the constitution, and constitutionally protected rights. The rights that preempt the founding of the nation, natural rights inherent to life. The constitution has served this republic well, and should endure the centuries ahead… IF we can keep itTo those that hate guns, please watch this with an open mind. 99.99% of gun owners are just like you, not crazy or “gun nuts”, value and respect life and will be very unlikely to harm anyone, other than in self defense.Perhaps we could arrange for a copy to be sent to every member of congress? just a thought.

This is an informative documentary that manages to largely sidestep the liberal and conservative biases that often accompany controversial issues such as gun rights. Instead, it delves into the history of the 2nd Amendment and highlights a number of the current misconceptions that people have about the issue. It contains analysis by prominent legal scholars, but also regular people, which gives it a good mix of academic and common-sense content. I would definitely recommend that anyone who wants to be better informed about the 2nd Amendment watch this video.

So while this movie showed many sides of the Argument it seemed to need some things added.1. The attitude of the other events that have occured to include Terroristic activities not just Gang related ones. They could have shown TSA and how people transport Guns in Airports now not just because of active shooters but because of 9/11/01. Vetrans influence was touched on historically but nothing about what vets in modern time are doing.2. The attitude about how because of the Violence and Civil Unrest in America Medical policies and Procedures have been dramatically improved Due to the War on Terror and Boston Bombing and Other such horrific events. The use of Tourniqets is now less of a issue with emergency personal than it once was.3. The Attitude towards Children with Firearms. How 3yr olds in other countries are shooting AKs. Yet we indoctrinate our children in America with water pistols and Nerf guns and airsoft which can be modified by Criminals to function as real weapons while also teaching poor muzzle awareness and the importance of target aquizition. Formal education with Weapons is not something taught in schools. There are many Fly by night training schools if not the store that show how to use the weapon later but nothing until potentially JROTC target classes if not Trap shooting on the Highschool or Collegiate level which do alot to the teaching of Safe weapon handling or respect of Human life yet not soon enough.4. Corporations Control over the Firearms Industry and the rights of owners of Private Property in Pertaining to the Defense of their Property.5. What Cops actually have to do to be able to carry their weapons and be bonafide to enforce the laws in society. There is alot of direction and add ins that this movie could have added however it was very well done and hopefully gives those not listening to the ground so well and opportunity to screw their heads on straight. When all is said and done all anyone wants is to be Safe that is about the only thing anyone can agree upon.

I appreciated that the producers presented both sides of the argument–reasonable sides. Public safety and violence is an issue, that’s definitely true. The problem is how much of our Constitutional rights should we give up to achieve these ends? I think this was well done, and appreciate the Constitutional basis of the defense of the Second Amendment.

Couldn’t recommend enough, whether you are a pro-gunner wanting to enforce your beliefs, or an anti-gunner who is actually willing to be educated on firearms. And for that reason, I recommend this to anti-gunners, more than anything.Oh, and it’s fun to see Ice-T here, too.

As a long-term gun owner and supporter of the 2nd Amendment, I wish all who are opposed to the 2nd Amendment take the time to watch this video and re-examine their perspective on gun ownership. This documentary does an excellent job of providing both of a historical and modern day (within the last 50 years) perspective on the merits of the amendment. It does a very effective job of dispelling the many “myths” that emanate from uneducated opponents of gun-ownership.An excellent follow-up to this documentary would be “Arming America: The Untold History of the U.S. Gun Culture” which provides historical perspective on the origins and perspective of what the gun industry has done for our country. For instance, few understand that Henry Ford was NOT at the forefront of the modern industrial age…it was the gun industry. And, it was collaboration between the government and private companies that bolstered our economy, led us into the industrial revolution, and a worldwide innovation leader in many areas during those time.

This is a really good documentary to show the history of gun control. I can’t help but see now how we as a Nation are pushing the same gun control methods as back then. You can’t outright assault Civil Rights by banning firearms. So let’s just tax it out of existence. Which is what HR 5717 is currently doing. Gun control advocates are emotion based. Gun rights advocates are rooted in logic and history. Of course that butts heads and leaves things at a stalemate. At some point we have to figure out a way to reach across the aisle and let gun control advocates know that the government has done more harm in the name of “protecting their safety”, than actually protecting them.

Funny, how suicides seem to be overlooked when the gun control folks are blowing their “numbers” horn. Even more curious, the gang-on-gang numbers don’t get reported either. Most curious of all… criminals commit the vast majority of gun crimes, yet “they” want us to believe that more laws are going to make criminals stop committing crimes. If this is really the case, why don’t the police set the standard and disarm themselves first? (no disrespect to the Blue)If law-abiding gun-owning citizens were the problem… there’d be nobody left alive in the country. Media sensationalizing and picking-and-choosing their “reporting” based on their political agendas… that’s the problem.Pre-WWII Germany.Former Soviet Union.Look it up. Let’s not go there.

I thought that it was a great documentary, and laid the case for why it is important for law abiding Americans to never give an inch when it comes to owning firearms. It goes through the history of laws passed in the United States, and that there are a lot regulations that are currently already on the books. It also gives firsthand accounts to historic events where guns basically saved lives (e.g. Battle of Athens, Post-Katrina, L.A. Riots). And Iced-T does a great job narrating.

Yeah some of this information shared in this video I wasn’t aware of. I am still also trying to wrap my head around “assault weapon or Assault rifle”. In a sense, any firearm or even a bag of frozen peas can be used too assault something or someone. Also when did we lose the ability to read the English language. The 2nd clearly says, the people have the right to keep and bear Arms, this right shall not be infringed. So am I not reading this correctly, the people, what only a select few of the upper elite can have them, that the people, not it’s everyone that wants to own a firearm, that is your right. Also one’s natural right for defense doesn’t segragate color, everyone of any color or creed has this right. I am tired of how they keep saying we are not after your firearms, but then clearly say they are. Also what is really sad is that this movie is over 6yrs old & today in 2019, we are seeing this gun control push even more so. Wake up it’s not a gun problem it’s a crime problem, it showned in the movie that more gun control laws don’t stop crime, just look up the stats on Washington DC, during the firearms ban & then after the firearms ban.

I actually saw this as an independently-minded examination of America’s gun culture, I’m a 50-something granola gal that chooses not to own a gun and I did not find this documentary trying to appeal to any fears of mine as criticized in another review. I felt a balance of sensible opinions and appreciated the historical journey that has defined the controversy of today’s dispute over the 2nd Amendment. It was an intelligent and rational look at an otherwise impassioned argument and well worth your time to ingest.

This is a great educational tool, for old, young, liberal, and conservative. It operates on facts, and leaves emotion out of it. It also tells how illegal gun control laws were used to discriminate against former slaves after the civil war, with “The Black Codes.” A real eye opener. I recommend. It highly.

As a history buff and gun owner, most of this I was aware of, but there were even a few things I learned. Most people won’t take the time to read all the history that is here. It is well documented that the sensationalism of the fake news media and progressives use the relatively small percentage of “mass shootings” with no concern for the thousands, upon thousands shot in gang violence every year. I do volunteer ministry 3 days a week with those who are mostly Black and Latino gang-bangers and I hear the stories of where the real problem is and is pointed out in this film: a culture of violence, lawlessness and a lack of empathy and care for others. The films with the facts (not very popular with liberals) and also some of the difficult questions about whether or not we can regulate guns without destroying the free society we have. Benjamin Franklin said those who give up freedom for security will have neither.

I have seen this documentary in the theater and am buying here on Amazon! I was very impressed with the well thought out arguments regarding our 2nd Amendment Rights. The film in not a “pro NRA” type of film in anyway, rather, this film provides historical occurrences, (Hurricane Katrina, Los Angeles Riots) that provide real world facts and proof as to the reasons why our forefathers provided us with this Amendment. This film is narrated by “Ice T” which gives this documentary a solid “edge” to it’s narration and at the same time provides compelling arguments as to the reasons why we should fight to keep our Amendment Rights as law abiding, tax paying Americans. This film is the first of it’s kind regarding the 2nd Amendment and you will NOT be disappointed. Must Watch!!!

This is about 2nd Amendment civil rights. It states its case clearly and, to me, non-offensively. An interesting doc that I did not tire of while viewing. Ice-T is the narrator and his voice is excellent for this story but he has no physical presence. The interviews and interviewees are well chosen and the writing is well done. I recommend this to my friends who are on the fence or even pro-gun-restriction. I feel that this is a non-combative film and it’s what we need in this conversation.

I was quite surprised to see something like this on Amazon.Gun control laws have had zero effect on violent crime in this country – other than to turn areas like Detroit, Chicago, the District of Columbia, etc. into murder capitals of the world from time to time. The latest data from the FBI (2015 statistics) show that the state with THE strictest gun laws in the nation – California – also had more murders (1,861) than any other state… and 69% were from firearms. Of course, Alabama has some of the most lenient gun laws in the country and literally 100% of their murders involved firearms. You know… all three murders.Of course, I’m cherry-picking. Per-capita is the way to look at this stuff. Looking at the number of murder by firearms in each state, the per capita numbers show an outbreak in gun violence that is shocking. For example, in the state of California, the per capita rate was 0.0000478 murders per person, with 0.0000327 involving firearms. Can you believe that?!? Almost 1/2 of a murder for every 40,000 people in the state. If that’s not indicative of a radical uprising of redneck, racist gun owners, I don’t know what is. Imagine the slaughter in a town of 20,000 people… how would you decide which person gets 1/4 murdered? And how would that look, anyway? “Jim, I’m sorry, bud. But we all voted and you gotta get a limb chopped off.”In 2015 there were 9,587 murders in the United States (excluding Florida – their numbers weren’t in the FBI report) involving firearms. There were 37,736 deaths involving automobiles. 42,032 accidental poisonings. 31,959 from unintentional falling. In 2014, 63.7% of firearm-related deaths were suicides, not murder. Yet the media reports the number of deaths without making that distinction.People get bent out of shape over the “huge” numbers of murders committed with firearms, and the truth is, the number is statistically insignificant. That is NOT to say that those lives taken are insignificant. But the numbers just aren’t there to support the kind of emotional whiplash we receive from the politicians. It’s almost as if politicians – who ban things they can’t even point to in a diagram – aren’t really looking to end violence… but to control the population and increase their own power. Funny.

The Second Amendment isn’t just about arms, its a civil right and many politicians, judges, police, and Americans do not grasp that. If you would put other civil rights under the same kind of attack by legislation and media scruitiny, it would be incomprehensible and outrageous. This country is on a slippery slope towards totalitarianism, this video helps expose that.

The unintended consequences of gun control are is only one of the many unsavory consequences this film explores. It discusses the racially biased roots, and the negative consequences for its intended victims. It also presents sophisticated legal arguments from eminent lawyers, judges, and law professors which support the notion that the 2nd Amendment is a Civil Right, not to be trifled with. Additionally, it clarifies a lot of myths surrounding firearms. I particularly enjoyed the graphic demonstration of the falsehood the notion that “black rifles” are designed only to kill, when the truth is the M16 was designed more to wound rather than to kill. The effect of the WW2 era M1 Garand 30-06 round on a plastic water bottle versus that of the M16 compatible 5.56mm round was the difference between a neat hole drilled through the bottle and the bottle being completely obliterated. Yes, it’s going to be a whole lot more fatal to be hit with the older weapon.I digress, so let me get to the point: this is the best, most complete refutation of the notion that gun control is a good idea from well meaning people that I’ve ever seen.

This documentary lays out a rational basis for examining our right to self defense through the lens of civil rights. Historical examples of tyranny, anarchy, and government corruption are used to show that an armed citizen is more effective than government or police in protecting life, property and liberty. The documentary also delves into what an “assault weapon” is and is not, and how restricting rifle features such as a pistol grip or barrel shroud does nothing to mitigate firearm lethality. Overall, this is an informative video that is very beneficial for those on both sides of the gun control debate.

Crime rates rise when gun controls are in effect. Crime is higher in Great Britain and Australia right now than any other places in the world. But crime is not why we have the 2nd. We have the 2nd to protect us from tyrannical governments. Look at any country that had their guns taken away and you will see populations destroyed by psychopathic rulers. End of story.Tyrannical governments use mind-control manipulation (euphemistically called “propaganda”) to sway public opinion. That is where this movie falls short (I gave it 5 stars so as to not reduce the rating). The same government who wants to take away the right to bear arms has complete control of the media. And that media tells lies. While this movie has the right motivation, it seemed to rely on the very same media lies that bolster anti-gun reactionaries. It used the official stories of Sandy Hook and Aurora which, I have no doubt in my mind, are lies. Yes, people died in Aurora. But who was the shooter and how was he controlled? Pleas research the CIA’s MK Ultra mind control programs and you will learn how “Manchurian candidates” are in fact a reality. Was anyone really killed in Newton CT? There doesn’t seem to be any physical evidence that prove there was and a lot of evidence that shows a conspiracy involving actors. Fortunately, this movie only references those events briefly.John Hinckley (shooter of Ronald Reagan in 1981) was just released from prison on September 10th 2017 after serving 35 years. Isn’t that a little lenient for shooting a president? I’m sure there are many serving a lot more time for much lesser crimes that don’t involve violence directly. But how many people know that Scott Hinckley, John’s brother, was scheduled to have dinner at the Denver home of Neil Bush (son of George HW Bush) the day after the shooting? Is it a coincidence that the Hinckley’s and Bush’s have close ties? The fact is George HW Bush effectively took control of the Reagan presidency (I am NOT a Reaganite by any stretch). The fact that Sarah Brady (wife of Reagan’s press secretary James Brady who was injured in the Reagan shooting) became “one of the nation’s leading crusaders for gun control” and whose husband had an gun-control bill named in his honor (“The Brady Bill”) is not a coincidence. Don’t even get me started on the Bush crime families’ ties to Gorden B Hinckley, the head of the Mormon Church and his connections to the CIA.Sounds like a huge conspiracy theory? Well, it is a conspiracy. Ask JFK where we’d be if he were still alive and was able to lead the USA in what I believe was a vision for world peace. Oh wait, can’t do that because the CIA, in collusion with military war pigs and the mob, took him out on November 11, 1963 in Dallas Texas. And right then a new government took control of the USA and their agenda is a war on the Constitution. A war on you. George HW Bush is still alive and you can bet he is still pulling strings.

I didn’t know about the breach in the second amendment that happened in hurricane katrina. This documentary was really helpful and during these times with covid-19, I am finding a consistent pattern that when emergencies happen, our rights mean nothing to the government.

The leftist agenda is to take away our right to defend ourselves. If they can take away any of our rights under the Bill of rights then they can take all of our rights away!

There really needs to be more of this sort of thing going around, making sensible statements and backing them up. This is an excellent documentary, providing multiple angles on the importance of the second amendment. Recommended for gun owners and those on the fence about the gun rights debate.

Living in California, I see the ongoing and accelerating assault on our Second Amendment rights first hand. This is an excellent presentation that I wish would be seen by everybody, especially those in public schools. Alas, it won’t.

This is what the anti-gun, anti-2A crowd needs to see, but they won’t turn off CNN or MSNBC long enough to see these facts presented to them. I find it amazing that some seemingly intelligent people actually believe that an evil person who is intent on committing murder will be influenced by an anti-gun law. Totally irrational thought process. We will not surrender our guns – PERIOD. Remember Athens.

Shows how our rights are under attack by a government that will make any excuse to infringe on our rights. Eye opening account about what happened in New Orleans during the hurricane disaster and the LA riots in 1992. Shows some of the anti gun side…. That didn’t make any sense! Our rights are pretty clear, but the government will twist their meaning to fit their agenda of controlling the American people.

I hope politicians will watch this with an open mind. It is on point with most of the nations thoughts about “gun control”, with the exception of Commiefornia and New York. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.

I love documentary films, and this one is a good one! It has the two basic things you want in a documentary film…it’s both entertaining and informative. This film is also palatable for the non-gun folks, and can be enjoyed by a broad range of people and backgrounds. It provides a lot of good historical info. Ice-T does a good job narrating. I have purchased several copies of this documentary…for myself, for family members, and for friends.

I would like to say is that I was impressed with the way this subject was talked about. The way this subject is talked about in the media is so biased to anti-gun that it is almost unthinkable to believe. Like Ice-T says in the movie, if you take one right away you might as well take them all away, because without this one there is no way to protect the others. I live in Arizona, a constitutional carry state, and I carry my gun every time I step outside my house. I do not carry it to intimidate people, actually I hope I never have to take it out of the holster. But I know that if a situation arises I will have the ability to defend myself and anyone around me.

I am already a firm supporter of the Second Amendment, so this film was not so much of an eye opener as it could be for those who might be on the fence or simply wish to learn more about the topic. This film covers the early foundations of the current gun control platform and shows how misguided it really is. They made sure to talk to both sides of the issue and got interviews with leaders on both sides of this debate which I feel helps to show that while obviously biased towards the 2A, they want people to hear both sides. If you have ever wanted to know more about either side of this debate, please watch this film. From the history of gun control up to the current state of the 2A and gun control advocates, this film will give you the information you need to help make an informed decision of where you stand without heartstrings being plucked.

This documentary serves to enlighten people. It should be a part of our academic enrichment. Firearms aren’t just guns anymore, they are a historical representation of the natural right to protect yourself. I am convinced to this day, those that are anti-gun are either emotionally compromised, or have never experienced the brutal adversity the world has to offer in order to understand why firearms are necessary.Without important works like this, the world will truly be blinded.

listen, this is a great documentary whether you like guns or hate guns or like america or hate america or yearn relentlessly for revolution and actual equity, fairness, justice, and equality becomes a reality for everyone, even turds who make horrible political decisions and elect reality tv show jerks who literally do care less about black people/people of color than george w. during katrina. he cares so little about anyone who doesn’t help line his pockets that my benefits that i am grateful won’t be hindered nor will i pay more for thanks to my awesome job, i will enjoy my accessibility while laughing at everyone who thought america could be great again somehow when it was never great in the first place.anyway, i’ve wanted to buy a guy and this cemented my decision. enjoy the documentary, comrades. it’s worth it.

I’m glad the documentary addressed the racist roots of some gun control legislation. In my state there was a bill up for vote to eliminate pistol permits. Pistol permits are, as indicated in the doc, remnants of Jim Crow. The same NICS background check done at the time of purchase is done by the Sheriff. I contacted both of my state reps and encouraged them to support the bill and explained the Jim Crow connection. They both voted against it. They were both black…Ice-T did a great job of narrating, just as he did when he was interviewed in England by a liberal talk show host.

Excellent film! Clearly and in plain language describes our Second Amendment of The US Constitution gives the American peopl the absolute right to protect themselves, their Loved Ones and The innocent from harm, either by those who are intent upon doing them harm, or from the over reach of a Tyrannical Government. The first of its kind that I have seen that is so well done. It also puts the lie to all the soaring rhetoric by agenda driven anti gun groups and politicians who are bent on disarming the American People.

If you cherish your 2A rights you will enjoy this movie. If you don’t, go watch Snow White or some other fairytale. This movie is well made, Ice-T does a great job presenting the facts and it never eats boring. I will probably by it on DVD before it gets banned as propaganda.

This video does a good job telling the history of government actions to limit in 2nd amendment. They cover a lot of ground, from early efforts to use tax evasion as a tool to stop gangsters, to more recent efforts to silence political opponents in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

They did a great job. The only part we didn’t agree with is the pink pistols. There shouldn’t be allowed to have guns or to live at all according to the bible, which our founding fathers believed in, such as homosexuals, pedophiles, murderers, kidnappers, and adulterers.

The video is well-received for a reason. It tells me that there are still enough sensible people in the country who are able to see past the political and mainstream media talking heads and do their own thinking.”Believe nothing of what you hear, and only half of what you see.”

Great movie, instills a lot of facts that anti-gun advocates either don’t care about or don’t want the sheeple to hear. Even a 30 year gun owner like myself wasn’t aware of a couple of the tidbits for “restricting guns” like race and mob tax evasion schemes the government used to justify throught history to limit our 2A rights today. Also, while I heard it through the internet, it was shocking to see firsthand the atrocities those who were sworn to protect and serve did during Katrina in the guise of “public safety”.Whether you are pro or anti-gun, I highly recommend viewing this and, as always, feel free to verify the facts for yourself.FACT: Rifles account for only ~300 murders a year, of that, the subset of AR-15 or AK47 variants only account for about 100 murders a year. So why are they always the focus of a potential ban? Another interesting fact, while 100 people murdered a year is still very tragic (out of the 90 million legal gun owners and 300+ million legal guns)IMO it still doesn’t justify a ban. If you think it does, then you should really read up (Google FBI violent crime statistics, and locate Table 20 that shows murders based on weapon used in each state), and really look into things like knives/sharp object that are used to murder around 1500 people a year or the 700 a year that are murdered with hands or feet, and ask yourself, if we don’t see any reason to ban things like that, why do we want to ban AR’s or AK variants that are used for a fraction of those amount of murders? We already have made murder illegal, so if a criminal doesn’t care about breaking that law and risking the death penalty or life in prison, do you really think more gun laws/regulations are going to stop them from using a gun for illegal purposes?FACT: The majority of all gun violence is either mentally ill individuals with guns, terrorists or gang members (studies show around 80% of all gun violence is gang related). We have 3 bigger issues to solve that has nothing to do with gun control but would basically minimize all gun violence: 1. Gangs, 2. Mentally Ill, 3. TerroristsFACT: Most politicians don’t care about the American people or the Constitution, and just pass “senseless” gun laws to gain political power from the uninformed in America who are naive. For example, they show at least one clip of an elderly black senator/congressman that is talking about how assault weapons kill millions of innocent children every year (100% false statement).

Good balance to the pseudo-facts used in most media stories, and a warning about what could happen in the US if we don’t protect our rights under the 2nd Amendment.
