Maria Morukian’s comprehensive guide to implementing DEIA in the REAL world is a welcome relief. The sections of background, cross-cultural implementation issues, and doing your own work are a huge plus. For less experienced trainers, she builds a needs assessment and design process that is easy to follow, yet detailed and specific enough to provide real guidance. All through the book, her experience and humanist approach shines through. This is a wonderful resource from someone who really knows what she is talking about.

I am not a DEI trainer, but I am very interested in expanding my DEI knowledge. I was excited when I found this book I think it’s a must-read even if you do not work in the DEI field. I feel that I can apply the tools that I learned from this book in my personal and professional life to have more meaningful conversations and welcome different perspectives. This book is now in my go-to library, next to Adam Grant, Susan Cain, and Daniel Pink.
