Honestly…5 stars is not enough! Thank you Yvonne Orji! God used you to allow me to be “Bamboozled by Jesus”! For real! The title is what got my attention..however by the end of the introduction I knew is was “ordained” for me to read this book. So real…honest….transparent…and always giving the glory to God as you remind us his desire is to give us a life even greater than our dreams. Excellent book!

I am a few chapters away from finishing this book, and I’m getting sad because I don’t want it to end—it’s just that great! I feel like Yvonne Orji is a good girl friend offering tips from her real life experiences to help me get my life together! This girl is annointed! And, while she doesn’t consider this a self-help book, it’s been exactly THAT for me and SO much more! It is humor, honesty and biblical teachings all wrapped up in a beautiful package. While reading the book, I felt like Yvonne was speaking directly to me and what I’m going through in my life right now. I have dog-eared and highlighted through so many of the pages, because I know I will return to the book for Yvonne Orji’s advice and guidance!

Yvonne Orji’s book “bamboozled” me into living my best life when I expected only a memoir. Enjoyed reading it and will most likely return again and share this book with others!

I enjoyed reading this book. I will inform you I bought this book in the middle of the year 2022, but I didn’t start reading it until now (December 6, 2022). This book was a blessing even though, I am on the right path this book validates I need to stay the course.

This book is just what I needed. I loved the way that Yvonne told her story while weaving in stories from The Bible, Da Good Book, as she called it. It was not “too religious” where its not practical and that is what I also enjoyed. There are so many highlights and notes on my copy because I revisit this book often. There are mantras or confessions that are also apart of my daily routine. I already loved Yvonne Orji and her Black Girl Magic but now I admire her so much more. Although she is a certified star and I am not, our stories were so similar and I gleaned so much! Do yourself a favor and read this book for yourself or choose it for your book club! Either way, read it now!

This is one of my favorite books. I hate I waited so long to read it but once I did I could not put it down. It was very inspiring and the way she was able to compare troubles people may go through with bible verses were good. She had an unorthodox way of describing the Bible verses but I was able to understand. This book is a keeper and absolutely loved it!

A New Language has been Invented! Yvonn-nics! Oh. My. God. She is a genius. She wrote this book like we were sitting in front of a fire place with a glass of wine having the best intimate girls night ever! Her book definitely inspired me to be more introspective to become a better me. Some of the things she said kinda stung like a bee but truth often stings a little. I thought she was just a great and talented actress but man, if you read just the first chapter of this book you will see just how multifaceted her talents really are. If I had to sum up this book in one word it would be: yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssss!

Loved every page and all of her stories. Her explanations and realness, to be more relatable makes the book so enjoyable. I couldn’t stop laughing, but definitely a great read to he reminded of the goodness of God!

This book was beyond good! The honesty and transparency, wow! The way Yvonne told the Bible stories in the dopest, relevant and most hilarious ways had me laughing out loud! This book was so relatable. I admire the way she refers back to what Da Good Book says! The personal testimonies was everything! This book is filled with so much hope! I am not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best books I have read in a while. As someone who has not read a book for leisure in a few years I could not put this one down. Yvonne not only brought her humor to life through the pages but she made me analyze my relationship with God and why he is so special. Through this book she makes you realize that you got the sauce and when you let God work he will show up and show out for you in the most unexpected ways. So, let yourself be bamboozled by Jesus as she says and pick up this book. There are some amazing gems in here.

I loved this book! I was at a confusing place in my life and this book really helped me to refocus on what is important. You don’t even have to be a Christian to understand the stories being told within the book. It is a perfect blend of Bible stories and real life experiences. I highly recommend to all readers! I loved this book!It was hilarious and thought provoking and spiritual all at the same time. Sometimes I wanted to read faster or jump to the next chapter and the holy spirit was like NO…you need to let the message marinate. I recommend this book to everyone who is ready to get out of their own way and go from SUCKcess to living their WHOLE blessed life!

I loved the whole context of the book. Yvonne just kept it real, she never pretend to be someone else in her journey. The language was her being open and honest about all the things she had to endure to make it big, while remembering who was her guide. The book has made me look at my own life so I can catch the opportunity to be bamboozled by Jesus.

After listening to the audio version my daughter wanted a hard copy so I gifted her one. We hope to get it signed one-day.

This is a really good read whether you are just beginning your faith walk, in the middle, or more seasoned. The clear message for me was Yvonne’s obedience- it’s the thing that stood out the most. The writing seems to be geared more toward millennials but I would recommend it to anyone. Because of the way she chooses to compare Bible stories to modern-day quotes and “sayings” you may need to go back and read certain things once or twice- and it was just a tad overdone. Nonetheless, I was incredibly inspired and would easily recommend this to anyone. She stayed the course and did not let anyone or anything deter her from her walk with Jesus. Very, very inspiring.

I bought this book for myself and my daughter and have since then gifted it to another friend and recommended it to many. Very non-traditional inspiring and encouraging book with scriptures intertwined in a life story that shows the many ways God is always involved even when we don’t see or feel him connecting and we feel like we are free falling. Faith is hard to maintain without knowing who you are to God and Yvonne Orji knew who she was and pressed through learning lessons that she easily shares in her own funny, faithful way. It shows us that if we believe, the end-game comes out greater than we ever could have expected. Exceedingly and abundantly above all we could ask, think, or dream. Have faith.

I can’t get enough of this book! It’s an easy read and it’s as if she’s speaking right to me. I was breezing through and decided to slow down so I’m not finished yet but I’m loving every sentence.

I LOVED THIS BOOK. The author is funny, relatable, referenced the Bible (Da Good Book) as she calls it and is TRUELY INSPIRING. I felt God directed me to this book to gain some confidence in taking my next step in my life to fulfilling my dreams. Moving in faith can be intimidating…but Yvonne always comes back with a hi-ya to turn your focus to God and have Him direct your path. I plan on giving some copies to friends for the upcoming holidays. I’m so grateful she stepped out in faith to reach us who need that lift. Definitely pleased…and I’m going to buy it again.

A gripping life story, compartmentalized in just-the -perfect-size nuggets, complete with validating scripture- to inspire, encourage, and ignite the flame within. I’ve taken away exactly what I needed from this book, and exactly what I believe the author intended. Life- changing AND entertaining! Thank you!

Just scrolling through Instagram one day and Sarah Jakes-Roberts mentioned this book. I was like lemme go see and to my surprise, it’s was the “girl from Insecure”. I knew her character’s name but now I know and pay attention to her REAL name.It was this scroll through Instagram that was part of my destiny as I wrestled with purchasing a newly realeased book (which I never did before). The packaging is what got me, I’m a sucker, I know, but boy oh boy, if that’s what it took for me to get this book, Jesus knew.I’m from the Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago to be exact, so $1USD is approximately $7TT, plus I can’t return it as easily if I needed to. The “risk” was soooo worth it!I am writing this review after reading chapter 14…..Da Book Is Good!Dare I say it changed…my…life.A friend asked me to borrow because I raved about it on Instagram, which ain’t a problem BUT I believe this book is multidimensional and the places I have highlighted in the book may skew her experience. So please, if you are look for a Word, Encouragement, laughs and a whole lotta self growth and introspection….get the book!Thanks Yvonne if you ever see this.

I needed a book like this that was preachy but yet would give great insight to life and God and have some humor. This book is it. It’s a real feel good, motivating and inspirational book.

Love the Bible references, the down to earth, friend to friend writing style. I sent my daughter the book. Never did that before. A great reference book to re-read as a reminder that in life, God is in control, we need to take the time to listen to Him.
