United Nations – Academy Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker received the 2017 Crystal Award in Davos, Switzerland, ahead of this year’s World Economic Forum. Mr Whitaker was honoured for his dedication to peacebuilding and conflict-resolution, as the special envoy for UN’s cultural agency, UNESCO. In an earlier interview with UN News, Mr. Whitaker talked about his ideals and work – through various institutions – which serve to promote peace and reconciliation across the world’s conflict-torn regions.
